Rules
TV-PG Rule
The Omegafriends is rated PG, so that things stay in line with the saturday morning cartoons that are the inspiration for the game. (Of course, as anyone who's watched enough Batman: The Animated Series knows, it's amazing what you can pull off in that rating...)
This means:
- No sexual content. At least, nothing “on-screen”, so to speak. As far as the game is concerned, your character’s sex life is at most a string of innuendos. Anything more explicit should be taken to personal journals.
- No gore. There is a lot of violence here, but it’s kid-friendly violence - getting hit by an explosion means a few days of bandages, not scorched flesh and third-degree burns. Keep blood to a minimum and mid-battle quips to a maximum.
- No swearing. Yes, we’re serious about that one. Characters who would swear can swear, but the swear words should be censored. “Damn” is OK, anything worse is off the list.
Don't Go Grimdark
At heart, Omegafriends is a very silly game. One of our main goals with the game is to keep things as light-hearted as possible. Good always triumphs in the end. No matter how many evil robots go on rampages, the innocent civilians always manage to get out of the way in time. Wear a domino mask and nobody will recognize you through your cunning disguise.
Look, we’re not saying there isn’t a place for the occasional more serious plot. What we’re saying is that this is Teen Titans, not The Dark Knight. No matter how grim things get, there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel. Try to preserve that spark of hope in the game at all times.
Remain In Character, Except....
Players should have their characters behave in line with what was apped to the game; obviously, characters will need to be adjusted for AU considerations, especially to keep with the previous rules. Character progression should be logical, and sudden changes should have reasonable explanations.
Separate IC and OOC
You will know many things your character doesn’t; don’t have your character act on things they shouldn’t know. (If it’s necessary for a plot, have your character do some comically nonsensical Bat Deductions.)
Don’t Godmode
You cannot control the actions of other characters without their permission. Period.
Ask Before you Unmask
Thanks to the Clark Kent effect being in full force, you should assume that even putting together apparently obvious clues to deduce a superhero's secret identity is delicate business. Under no circumstances should you have your character figure out who a Super really is without the player's permission.
Keep plot scale under control
Omegafriends takes place and will continue to take place in and around Venture City, and we’d like to maintain a certain degree of status quo. We encourage player plots, but if something is going to have far-reaching consequences for the setting, be sure to drop us a line first to hash out the details.
Don't be a jerk
Don’t be a jerk. Be civil to one another, use proper roleplay etiquette, do not harass players OOC’ly, and keep things in perspective for a pretendy funtimes game.
Application Restrictions
A player can have a maximum of five characters in the game at once. You can app a maximum of two characters from the same canon, and only if their interactions are minimal or nonexistent. You cannot app a character already in the game.
Activity Requirements
Activity posts will go up at the end of every month. Each of your characters needs to make one post to
